Styles in modern interior- Pop Art
In the mid-twentieth century comes the zenith of the mass culture that is oriented to the wide users. The development of series production leads to the appearance of products that are available to everyone and many of them are really popular. In the 50 years of XX century in United States of America a new style is formed - the pop art. Pop Art (from the English- Popular art) - a popular art that rises the themes of consumerism society to the rank of artistic works. Household items are parodied by imitation, augmentation, repeat. The art uses elements of posters, comics, commercial advertising, product packaging, newspapers. One of the principles of the pop art is that series and type replication can be used not only in manufacturing but also from artists in the interior design - many times repeated subject intensifies its significance, i.e. an object is a good thing, but one hundred and one another are even better. The most famous representative of pop art is the American artist Andy Warhol.
The interior in this style is characterized by simplified shapes and various colors, abstract paintings and glossy surfaces, actively uses plastic and the shiny surfaces. "Pop" means "boom" and because of that mandatory are the eccentric objects that attract attention with bright colors, sizes, unusual use. In the interior design rooms are decorated with portraits of idols of the pop culture - Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and others, signs with newspaper clippings, wallpaper with a picture of skyscrapers or large prints with comics that besides the walls can be stamped on furniture and textiles.
Pop-art sound modern today, but in its essence is embedded style derision and rebellion against mediocrity.
